Microbe Mart
For IFTF’s 2015 annual Ten Year Forecast conference I led the concept design for the Microbe Mart, a corner-store from the future where every product on the shelf had been designed with the microbiome in mind. You could find products such as bacteria-powered batteries, a microbiome mood ring, prebiotic sleep aids that caused vivid dreams, or the Bacteria Pet (it’s like a Chia Pet, but enhanced with synthetic biology to recreate the beneficial microbiome benefits of living with a dog for families with pet allergies). Conference guests were invited to browse the store, question what was real, and reconsider the future of CPG in a more microbially-informed world.
