Artifacts from the Future of Food

Images of the future make abstract ideas about the future concrete. Part of my foresight research practice includes creating images that allow viewers to really consider what it might look and feel like to live in a particular future. These images become a starting point for strategic conversations: if these are futures we want, how can we start making them? If not, what alternatives should we create?

I’ve been doing this since I was a kid.

When I was seven years old, I made drawings of everyday objects redesigned with new features. Since then, I haven’t stopped asking “what if?” and imagining ways the world around me could be radically different than it is today.
